SUNDAY: QUITO – COCA – NAPO RIVER
Departing from Quito, and after a 30 minutes flight to the Amazon city of Coca, you will be transferred to the dock and board the motorized canoe down the river for approximately 1h30 to the M/V Anakonda Amazon Cruises.
A naturalist guide will provide an introduction to the Ecuadorian Amazon and you will be able to admire the changing rainforest landscape down the Napo River.
After dinner, you will go for a nighttime forest walk to experience the noises, aromas and biodiversity.
MONDAY: PAÑACOCHA BIOLOGIAL CORRIDOR
Downstream to the Pañayacu River delta, you will take a canoe trip to the fascinating water reserve. Pañacocha Lake, means Piranha Lake, is an ecosystem flooded by black waters. This rainforest is home to 9 species of primates, 500 species of birds and more than 100 fish species.
Back on board the M/V Anakonda Amazon Cruises, our guests will attend a lecture and watch an educational documentary about the region.
TUESDAY: PARROT CLAY LICKS – AMAZONIAN COMMUNITIES & OBERVATION TOWER
This morning, you will go on canoes to observe this side of the Western Amazon – the Parrot Clay Licks. This place is rich in colorful parrots and amazon birds.
Later, you will visit a Quechua Cultural Center to learn about the Amazon communities and their traditions and cuisine with the local indigenous.
You will also visit the observation tower with a 360 degree view of the Amazon basin.
WEDNESDAY: RETURN
Enjoy the last 1h30 ride of the journey and disembark the M/V Anakonda Amazon Cruises to take the motorized canoe back to Coca and flight to Quito.
