OTAVALO FULL DAY: This morning we will leave Quito in direction to Otavalo, famous for its handicraft market. Underway on the Panamerican Highway, pass by Calderon, village where they make marzipan figures, continuing to Guayllabamba whereyou can try the custard-apple, fruit typical of the area. Depending on the weather, we can admire the beauty of the fabulous snow-capped Andean and will make a brief stopover in Miralago, where we will enjoy a unique view of Lake San Pablo and Imbabura volcano, before arriving at Otavalo. We will visit the textile market of the“Plaza de los Ponchos”, one of the most renowned markets of South America, where all kinds of crafts, including tapestries made in Spanish old looms. We will then enjoy a free time to shop and bargain with the friendly otavaleños. In the afternoonwe will visit a colonial hacienda to enjoy a delicious traditional meal. Then we will go to the small artisan village of Cotacachi, returning to Quito in the afternoon.
